I remembered a request for the Art Ensemble Of Chicago. The Art Ensemble is notable for its integration of musical styles spanning jazz's entire history and for their multi-instrumentalism, especially the use of what they termed "little instruments" in addition to the traditional jazz lineup; "little instruments" can include bicycle horns, bells, birthday party noisemakers, wind chimes, and a vast array of percussion instruments (including found objects).
This is maybe their most beautiful album: 41 minutes over two vinyl-sides, one track, recorded in 1969. Digitized in 2002. It is hidden on the Blue Note CD "Americans Swinging in Paris".
The musical creation of the trinity of the continents Afrika, Europe and America. It is rustling in the reef, all the chimes are playing, music of creation ! Maybe their masterpiece !
Get it here: Art Ensemble Of Chicago - People In Sorrow (192Kbps)
And enjoy !
PS: Sorry for the vinyl-cracks - it's just like it is...
PSS: Oh, and here is one of my favourite tracks from the guys - it's from 1967: Art Ensemble Of Chicago - Jazz Death (320Kbps)

R3000,
thx so much for posting this essential AEC lp, one of the first lps of any sort that I owned. most certainly opened a door into a vast new area for me, laying on the floor next to the speakers, listening to the crazy almost inaudible sounds and then the car battery horn kicks in. look forward to hearing this again.
Thanks for this...truly one of hte greatest.
