From the liner-notes: "This is a Blast First complication and is dedicated. It features an odd assortment of related items interrupted by various in(consequential) jokes and fragments creating some kind of spurious err 'background' to the labels teetering existence. It does not contain any of our greatest hits 'cause we never had any except in our heads and the super reality of the 'indie charts'." So it is. Here is the original tracklisting:Sonic Youth - "Come and smash me said the boy with the magic penis" recorded in NYC in '85 @ Wartons Studio for a John Peel Session
Head Of David - "Bugged" original "Saveana" mix
UT - "Fire in Philly" live version recorded in '85 @ Peppermint Lounge, NYC
Sonic Youth - "He's on fire" from Masterdik b-side sprawl
Big Black - "Kerosene" live ignition from a hometown gig from '86 Maaann !
Sonic Youth - "Magic Wand" same sesh as "Come and smash me"...
Rapeman - "Dutch Courage" post lp demo !? That is to say unreleased
Dinosaur Jr. - "Bulbs of Passion" updated version recorded for Dino/Peel '88 Session
Lee Ranaldo - "Scratchy Heart" special unlocked construction
Ciccone Youth - "****" Whitey outtake beat 'n' brawl
UT - "Evangelist" from '87 "In Gut's House" album
Head Of David - "Snake Domain" recorded live @ The Clarendon - Hot july night
Big Black - "He's a Whore" special mellow re-mix...
Big Stick - "Devil's Jukebox" brand new with shiny chrome
Arsenal - "Little Hitlers" from da Manipulator E.P.
Butthole Surfers - "Jimi" massive live version recorded @ The Mean Fiddler...
Who threw that glass ?
Great noisy compilation from 1989 in a sort of radio-feature manner... So here are the two vinyl-sides (even the cd is only one track): Blast First - Nothing Short Of Total War (192 Kbps)
PS: You can get another recommended Blast First release with plunderphonics called "Deconstruct" over at Border Music !

Epic Soundtrax too, Swell Maps we're a fine bunch, and Jowe Head had a great LP too. Some good listening for the weekend.
