M:I:5 - Maßstab 1:5

This is an out-of-print classic done by Wolfgang Voigt (aka Mike Ink, Wassermann, Gas, Love inc. , Grungerman etc, etc, etc). He is one of the founders and owners of the famous Cologne-based Kompakt-Label.

"Actually this side project presents 11 tracks of repetitive, minimalist dub-dance. Most work through distinctive three-note bass rhythms dropping in and out of the mix, a languid beat-per-second tempo, and off-kilter, backtracked effects designed to hit simultaneously in left and right channels only once every five occurrences (hence the title). Potentially bland or hypnotic, depending on the point of view, these tracks revealed Mr. Voigt as a master of post-rave beat experimentation."

Thanks for the nice comment at my blog and for putting a link to A Closet of Curiosities. I have you linked too. I'm looking forward to listening to the terrific offerings here. Always wanted to check out The Nihilism Spasm Band. Best regards.
